Most people are familiar with Dionaea, commonly known as "Venus Flytrap." Many are unaware that there are nearly 700 species and sub-species of carnivorous plants, all fascinating and beautiful. For this series, nine varieties were illustrated as repeat patterns for textiles.

Each of these super adorable and functional pincushion rings is handstitched using vintage trims, recycled fabrics, and scraps from around the studio. The cushions are stuffed with tulle or polyfill, depending on availability of materials. Each ring is unique, soft, and features layers of leather and recycled plastic to prevent pins from poking through to your poor fingers.
